Ionia Sentinel Standard, 30 Mar 1979

A former Ionia resident Melvin C. Peters Sr., 80, died Wednesday evening at
United Memorial Hospital in Greenville.  He was born Feb. 6, 1899 at Alma, the
son of William and Noni Peters.  Peters was a veteran of WWI and a retired stone
mason.  He married Lily Fisk Aug. 2, 1931 in Lansing.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Shirley) Cousinau of Ionia;
a son, Melvin Jr. of Greenville and five grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville. 
Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will be at
the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
