Born December 27, 1893 in Dwight, Ill., he was the son of George and Sophia Petersen and came to Easton township in 1905. He was married August 29, 1917, in Ionia to Frances VanGeisen and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They lived at their present residence 35 years. A veteran of World War I he was a former member of the American Legion. Besides his wife, Frances, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Fred Hecht of route 3; son, Arden Petersen of route 3; seven grandchildren; one brother, Edwin Petersen of Ionia; sister, Mrs. Sophia Swain of Ionia. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman funeral home. Rev. Chester Erickson will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery. Bearers will be Robert Peterson, Sr., Robert Peterson, Jr., William Swain, Rolland Hill, Lawrence Telfor and Gary Peterson.
