Norma L. Petersen, 82, of Greenville, passed away Sunday morning, June 19, 2005,
with the same grace and dignity she possessed throughout her life.  The daughter
of Howard R. and Nina Pennells Farrington, she was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Belding.

On Jan. 30, 1943, she married LeRoy Carl “Occie” Petersen, who was serving with
the U.S. Army Air Corps in Louisiana during World War II.  Norma was a loving
wife, aunt and friend to many, in addition to being an active member of
Community of Christ Church (the former Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints) in Greenville, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 59 years, Occie, on
Feb. 26, 2002; two sisters, Ruth Bauman, Viva Bauman; two brothers-in-law,
Lester “Gus” Petersen, Irving Petersen; and two sisters-in-law, Vivian
Truesdall, Irene Petersen.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lena and Bill Sherwood of
Escondido, Calif., and their daughters, Sue and Donald Wiley of Murrieta,
Calif., Marcia J. and Jerry Dawson of Northville, Norma Renee and Guy Burgess of
Garner, N.C.; many other dear nieces, nephews and cousins; and her church family
at Community of Christ.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at
Community of Christ Church in Greenville at a date and time to be announced
later this summer.  Final interment is in Rest Have Memory Gardens, Belding.  In
lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Norma may be directed to Community
of Christ Church, 814 E. Coffren Ave., Greenville, Mich., 48838  Brown-Teman &
Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, is serving the family and is entrusted
with the arrangements.
