Juanita Belle Petersen, 92, of Belding, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 4,
2009, with her daughter at her side.  Juanita was born March 28, 1916, in
Belding, the daughter of James and Edna Cartridge Wright.

Juanita was a homemaker and worked at many part-time jobs.  She collected for
the American Cancer Society in her neighborhood for many years.  She loved
animals, especially dogs.

She married Lyle Petersen in Belding on Dec. 8, 1933, and he survives along with
their daughter, Anita and Pete Shindorf of Belding; seven grandchildren, Wayne
Petersen of Belding, Kirt Petersen of Hastings, Scott Petersen of Sparta, Kym
Kozachik of Hudsonville, Brent Petersen of Rockford, Wade Shindorf of
Middleville, Renae Shindorf of Belding; 10 grandchildren; and one great-great
grandchild.  Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eugene Peterson;
and brother and sister-in-law, L.J. and Adell Wright.

Funeral and committal services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein
Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Private interment
will be in Otisco Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour before the
service.  Memorials may be given to Ionia County Animal Shelter or Alvah N.
Belding Library.
