Lake Odessa Wave  
          MAUD PETERSEN
   IONIA -- Mrs. Maud Petersen, 96 of N. Dexter Street, Ionia, died July 12 at
Belding Christian Nursing Home.
   She was born in a log cabin in Lake Odessa on December 19, 1884, attended and
graduated from Lake Odessa schools and taught school for several years.
   She married Ernest Capron on January 17, 1911, in Chicago, Ill.  He preceded her
in death October 29, 1936.
   Then she married Anton Petersen, Dec. 13, 1944.  He preceded her in death Nov.
15, 1973.
   She worked for many years at the Ionia Courthouse in the office of the Register
of Deeds.
   She is survived by two sons:  William Capron of Ocala, Fla. and Harvey Capron of
Ionia;  three stepsons; Karl Petersen and Fred Petersen of Ionia and Thomas Petersen 
of Ludington; three step-daughters;  Vivian DeVries of Jackson, Mrs. Bertha Nielsen of 
California, and Mrs. Norma Nyland of Tennessee;  several grandchildren;  several great 
grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. 
   Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home with
Rev. Marvis Hale of Grace Baptist Church officiating.  
   Burial was in Lakeside cemetery in Lake Odessa.
