Catherine A. Peterson, of Portland, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and 
aunt, died June 23, 2003 at the age of 77.  Born in Detroit Jan. 3, 1926 Mrs. 
Peterson was a member of the Church of the Resurrection for 45 years and was a 
devoted mother, who loved her family, art, music, painting and crafts. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. in 1984; son, John in 1984; 
brother, Jack Clifford; sister, Maureen Ebright.

Surviving are daughters, Joanne M. (Art) Phelps of Portland and Peggy D. 
Peterson of Grand Junction, Colo.; sons, Michael J. of Grand Junction, Colo.; 
Patrick W. of Southgate and Thomas V. (Stephanie) of Ann Arbor; five 
grandchildren, John Peterson, Jr., Brett Peterson, Adam Phelps, Emma Phelps 
and step-grandson, Matt Phelps; brother, Jim (Kathy) Clifford of Lansing; 
sister, Sheila Hurth of Lansing.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated June 26 at the Church of the Resurrection, 
Lasing with Father William J. Koenigsknecht, Pastor, officiating. The Rite of 
Committal followed in St. Patrick Cemetery, Woodhull Township.  Arrangements 
were handled by Gorsline-Runciman Company Lansing Chapel.  Contributions to 
Ionia County Hospice, 117 N. Depot, Ionia, MI 48846 would be appreciated.
