(Andy) Peterson, 73, of 917 Forest street, died Thursday afternoon in Ferguson-Droste-Ferguson hospital in Grand Rapids where he had been a patient for the past two days. He was born in Dwight, Illinois October 17, 1904, the son of Charles and Caroline Brodersen Peterson. The family moved to rural Orleans when he was a child and Mr. Peterson attended rural schools. He married the former Ruth Peacock, June 5, 1929 in Zion church in Ionia and they made their home in the Ionia area. He was in business with his two brothers, owning and operating Yeoman's dairy until it closed in 1956. Since 1956, he was employed as a bookkeeper at Ionia Coca Cola Bottling plant. Mr. Peterson was a member of Zion United Methodist church, Ionia lodge 36 F&AM, and a former member of the Ronald Grange. Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles (Chub) of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Janet) Doran of Walled Lake and Mrs. Roger (Carolyn) King of Green Lake, Wisconsin; three brothers, Ray of Belding and Ed and John of Ionia; six sisters, Mrs. Ed (Olene) Curtis of Winona, Minnesota, Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Burrows and Mrs. Frank (Hazel) Phelps of Ionia; Mrs. Dan (Carolyn) Bowerman of Grand Haven; Mrs. Fred (Esther) Hall of Parchment and Mrs. Lee (Louise) Gabe of Grand Rapids and eight grandchildren. Services are Sunday at 2 pm from Zion United Methodist church with Rev. Nolan Williams officiating. Burial is in Sunset Memorial gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Leddick funeral homes Friday and Saturday, 7 to 9 pm. Memorial funds are established for Zion United Methodist church and the Michigan Heart Fund.
