PETERSON, JOHN M.:
   SENTINEL-STANDARD, IONIA, MI; 2-4-2004, page 2:  "OBITUARIES - John M.
Peterson, 88, of Ionia, passed away February 3, 2004 at Heartland Health Care in
Ionia.  He was born May 19, 1915 in Orleans the son of Charles and Carlene
(Broderson) Peterson.
   He married Viola Trebian November 26, 1938 in Indiana.  He owned and operated
Yeomans Dairy and Peterson Orchards.  He was a member of Ionia Masonic Lodge,
Ionia First Methodist Church, and Michigan Fruit Growers.  He chartered Belding
Fruit Sales & Storage Coop.
   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Viola of Ionia; son, Dale John and
Erma Peterson of Prairie Village, Kansas; daughters, Judy and Tom Baylis of
Ionia, Marilyn Sue May of Newaygo; sisters, Carolyn Bowerman of Frankfort, Hazel
Phelps of Kalamazoo, Esther Hall of Parchment, Louise Lake of Grand Rapids; five
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by sisters, Olene Curtis, Lillian Burrows; brothers,
Raymond, Andrew, and Edward Peterson.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at Ionia First Methodist
Church with Rev. Marty Culver officiating.  The family will receive friends and
relatives Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Ionia First Methodist Church.  Anyone
