Thomas Richard Pethers, 51, of Belding, fought a courageous battle with cancer
and entered in to the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 19,
2005.  Tom was born June 26, 1954, in Cheboygan, to Donald and Regina Pethers. 
Tom was a longtime member of Operative Plasters and Cement Masons Local 16.  He
worked as a cement finisher for Grand River Construction for many years.  He was
a member of American Legion Post 459 in Grand Rapids.

Tom will be remembered by his loving wife, Debra Antcliff Pethers; two sons, Tim
Pethers and fiancée Heather Clark, Billy Pethers and fiancée Becky Mock; five
stepchildren, Robert and Cindy Huddleston, Leonard and Emma Huddleston, Brian
and Joanie Huddleston, Connie and Terry Atchison, Larry Huddleston and fiancée
Amber Day; 19 grandchildren that he adored, Kaiden, Kayla, Kassi, Katie, Casey,
Courtney, Catlin, Amanda, Brian, Jason, Lauryn, Terry, Cassie, Baylee, Cali,
Damion, Emily, Dalton, Nate; his parents, Donald and Regina Pethers of
Cannonsburg; brothers and sisters, Donny and Rose Pethers, Bill and Lynda
Pethers, Judy Dietz and Andy Bowser, Jeannie Litson, Sandy and Pat Demink, Peg
and Richard Peyton, Dan and Gail Pethers, Deb and Mike Flannigan, Jim and Chris
Pethers, Rob Pethers and Janet Jordan, Jackie Dominy and Rick Quillan; and
several nieces and nephews.  

Tom will be remembered by his family and friends as a very gentle and
compassionate man with a delightful sense of humor, kind spirit and genuine
heart.  He will be sadly missed.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Huffman-Brigham Funeral Chapel, 303 s.
Bridge St., Belding.  Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today.
