Petrie, 67, of Sebewa, passed away unexpectedly at his farm home on Musgrove Highway, Tuesday evening. He was found by his son George in a chair in the living room of his home and Corner Dale Kauffman and Chief Deputy Sheriff Ralph Johnson, who investigated said death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Petrie was last seen alive by a neighbor Henry Hoort and had lived his work at the Brown Corporation at Ionia, where he was employed as a welder, about 10:30 that morning. Besides being employed as a welder, he was a farmer and also as Sebewa township clerk for nearly seven years. He had spent most of his life in that area. His wife Cora passed away in March 1950. Surviving are the son George; a daughter Mrs. Pearl Devries of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Ray, William and Carl of Sunfield and 10 grand children. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mapes funeral home at Sunfield with burial in the East Sebewa cemetery.
