Ionia Daily Standard - Fri. Oct. 25, 1895


Mrs. John Petrie, of Sebewa, died Wednesday, and the funeral was held Friday at 
1 o’clock p.m. It is thought her death was brought about worrying over the loss 
of her son who was run over by the cars at Battle Creek. The young man was 
crossing the track on his bicycle, it will be remembered, when stuck by the 
train. Mrs. Petrie was terribly shocked by the accident, and has hardly been 
herself since. – (Portland Observer).
