Sentinel-Std. - Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1950

Ms. Nellie Pettingill, 83, of 407 Center street, died at the Ionia Rest Home at 
8:30 p.m. Tuesday after being a patient there for ten days.

On Aug. 7 she suffered a concussion in a fall at her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1866, the daughter of John and Mary Mooney. She lived her 
entire life in Ionia except for three years when she lived in Greenville.

She was married to William Pettingill in 1892 in SS. Peter and Paul rectory. He 
died in 1936. One daughter died in infancy.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Sarah O'Brien of 401 Center street.

Ms. Pettingill was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church where services will be 
held Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Rosary will be 
said Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Boynton funeral home where the body reposes.
