Phenix, 52, of Belding, passed away Saturday evening, February 7, 2004 in Ada. He was born on July 14, 1951 in Greenville the son of Edward L. and Sylvia Sower Phenix. Leslie had retired from the State of Michigan serving as a corrections officer and was a member of New Hope Church of God in Belding. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a big fan of Belding football. Leslie is survived by his children, Holly and Rick Andree of Wayne, Laura Phenix of Belding and Aaron Phenix of Belding. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sylvia, Jakob, Victoria and Caleb; his brother and sisters and their spouses, Russell and Toni Phenix of Ada, Lynne Frantsen and Julie and Roger Smith all of Belding. Leslie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Church of God, Belding with Pastor Bill Overton officiating. No visitation will be held. Interment will be in Otisco Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Belding Athletic Boosters. Funeral services were entrusted to Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
