Sentinel-Std. Monday, Feb. 23, 1948

Mrs. Minnie Phenix, 75, of Belding died at 3 a.m. Saturday at the home of her 
son, Grandville Phenix of Belding Route 3. She had been ill for three weeks. It 
is thought that her death was hastened by the death of her son, Alton Burdick, 
of Belding earlier this month.

She was born May 20, 172, in Chippewa township in Mecosta county. She had been 
a Belding resident for 23 years.

Surviving her are three sons, Grandville Phenix and James Phenix of Belding and 
John Phenix of Grand Rapids; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 
and one sister, Mrs. Julia Daily of Big Rapids.

Funeral services will be held from the Fales-Huffman funeral home Tuesday at 2 
p.m. Interment will be in Eaton cemetery west of Barryton.
