The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, March 27, 1946
Douglas E. Phettiplace, 85, died about six o’clock Tuesday evening at his farm 
home on Route 1 Lyons, after an illness of a year.  He had been seriously ill 
for two weeks.

Mr. Phettiplace was married to Isabel McLeod 55 years ago and they have lived 
on their farm and in Portland since their marriage.  Mrs. Phettiplace survives.

Services will be Thursday at two o’clock p.m. at Neller’s funeral home in 
Portland, with interment in Portland cemetery.
