Ionia Daily Sentinel – Wednesday, 2 June 1948 Mrs.Phila S. Cilley, 90, died at the Ionia Convalescent home Tuesday afternoon after being a patient there for three weeks. She was born in Keene May 29, 1858. She lived on a farm in South Boston until the death of her husband, Wesley Cilley in 1919 when she moved into Saranac. She was a member of South Boston church and was a Sunday school teacher there until the church closed about 15 years ago when her membership was transferred to the Saranac Methodist church. She was also a member of the WCTU. Her only survivor is a daughter, Irma, a teacher in the Dearborn schools with whom she lived winters for several years Funeral services will be held from the Morris funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment in South Boston cemetery.
