Ionia Sentinel Standard, 27 Jun 1973

Mrs. Rhoda B. Philips, 83, of route 4 died Wednesday at Ionia County Memorial
hospital following an extended illness.  She was born December 10, 1889, in
Evergreen township, Montcalm county.  In 1920 she was married to Maurice Philips
and he died in 1966.  A son George also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nina Tyler of Ionia and Mrs. Dorothy Emelander
of Saranac; two sons, Raymond Adams of Stanton and Dail Philips of Ionia; 15
grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister,
Mrs. Madia Mesler of St. Johns.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Stebbins funeral home in
Sheridan.  Rev. Kendall Downing will officiate and interment will be at
Evergreen cemetery at Sheridan.  Visitation hours at the funeral home are 7 to
8:30 p.m. Thursday.
