She has been in very poor health for several months, being confined to her bed by a stroke of paralysis. She and her husband, the late G.A. Phillips were pioneers of this township and held in high esteem by all who knew them. They were members of the First Congregational church of Belding. She was 85 years old and was living with her son Edmund and granddaughter, Leona, who have carefully looked after her in her hours of suffering. Another son, Wilson also survives her. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2 o’clock p.m. at the house. Thus has passed away another of Otisco’s loved and respected pioneers.
