The deceased was born in Seneca Co., New York, April 8th, 1810, being at the time of his death, 73 years old. He came to Michigan in 1842 and settled in southwest Danby upon the Sherman farm. Two wives and four children went from time to eternity before him. During the ten weeks or more of his sickness he suffered intensely, and yet with patience. In life he acknowledged he had been a great sinner, but he heartily repented and gave himself up for Christ, being much in prayer and exhorting his daughters and others to live Christian lives. His funeral was attended at his brothers residence, April 13th, 1883; sermon from He. III-xii and xii.
