An operation which was hoped would restore her to health was attempted on Thursday of last week. Cause of death was cancer. Mrs. Phillips was born in Otisco township on May 5, 1881, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace Foreman, well known residents in their day. Practically all her life had been spent in this immediate vicinity and her friends are counted only by the number of people she met and became acquainted with. Much of her life had been devoted to the care and consideration of others. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Trebian, and two grandchildren, all of this city. The body was prepared for burial by Undertaker Bruce G. Fales, after which it was taken to the family home at 215 Alderman street. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Baptist church and funeral services, with Rev. Clinton R. Everts, pastor of the church, officiating, were held at the Fales funeral home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial was in Otisco cemetery.
