George Phillips Dies After Short Illness.
George Phillips, 75, passed away at the home of his brother-in-law Archie Wellman at
Ludington late Tuesday night after a two weeks illness.

He was born in Danby township, April 27, 1875, son of Joseph and Mary Collingham
Phillips.

He conducted a grocery store at Mulliken 33 years ago, later moving to Lansing where
he was in business for 23 years.

After his wife's death in 1920 he came here to make his home with his cousin, the
late Mrs. Bertha Hines, residing here until September 23, when he went to Ludington.

Surviving besides the brother-in-law are two nieces and nephew.

Mr. Phillips reposes at the Pickens chapel where services will be held Saturday at 2
with burial in Meadow Brook cemetery at Mulliken. Rev. Forrest Mohr will officiate.
