The Ionia County News, Thursday, October 1, 1931
George K. Phillips, 71, died Wednesday morning at his home on Yeomans street 
following several months of poor health.  He was born in this city and lived 
here all throughout his life.  For many years he was an employee of the 
Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company.

He is survived by his wife, three children, Verne of Grand Rapids, Otto of 
Bowling Green, Ohio; and Mrs. Carl Folz of Battle Creek; seven brothers, John 
of Gilboa, Ohio, Herman of Leslie; Joshua of Grand Rapids, Chester of Flint, 
Jason of Toledo, James of Ionia, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Winchell of 
Kalamazoo.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the home.  Interment will 
be in Oak Hill cemetery.
