Mr. Pickard was an old resident and well known citizen in this village and vicinity and his sudden death is deplored by many friends. His remains were interred by his brother masons last Sabbath, in Keene where he formerly resided. The following resolutions are handed us by the committee for publication: WHEREAS - It has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove from us by death our brother Joseph Pickard, for many years a member of this Lodge, therefore RESOLVED, that we cherish the memory of our departed brother as that of an honest upright man and mason, and a useful and honored member and former officer of this Lodge. Resolved, that we deeply sympathize with the widow and the fatherless in this the hour of trial, and that we commend them for comfort to Him who alone can measure their grief and their loss. Resolved, that we attend the funeral as a Lodge, and inter the body of our deceased brother with the usual masonic honors. Resolved, that a copy of these Resolutions suitably signed, be presented to the family of the deceased and a copy be furnished the Lowell Journal for publication. Committee: Henry M. Clark, E. A.
