Margaret M. Pickens (Metcalf), 86, of Ovid, formerly of Lansing, passed away 
November 22, 2006. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 
2006, at 11 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, 
DeWitt. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 until the time 
of service. Peg was born April 27, 1620 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was an airline 
hostess in 1942 for Penn. Central Airlines out of Washington, DC. She married 
Arlo Pickens, a WWII Navy pilot, in 1942 in Alexandria, VA. Peg and Arlo lived 
in Lake Odessa for 15 years, and then moved to Lansing. Peg was a member of 
Beta Sigma Phi for over 60 years and enjoyed dancing and gardening. Peg and 
Arlo had 6 children and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death this year by 
husband, Arlo. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sue, Nannette, Debra 
(Gary) Parks; and sons, Arlo Jr. (Marilyn), Scott (Teresa), Steve (Melissa); 
and 4 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovid 
Health Care Center, Ovid, MI.
