The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 6, 1926

A message from Grand rapids this morning announced the death of Mrs. Mary 
Pickhaver who had lived in Ionia all her life until she went to make her home 
with her daughter about eight years ago.

Mrs. Pickhaver suffered a severe nervous breakdown some years ago, and had 
never been real well since, but was taken ill two weeks ago, and Sunday 
morning, December 5, a stroke of apoplexy caused her death.  One daughter, 
Miss Grace Pickhaver, one sister, and one brother survive her.

Mrs. Pickhaver had been a member of the Ionia Methodist Episcopal church of 
Ionia until she took her letter to a Methodist Episcopal church in Grand 
Rapids about three years ago.  She was also a member of Queen Esther chapter, 
order of Eastern Star, for many years, and had been presented with a life 
certificate from that order.

Mrs. Pickhaver will be brought to Ionia Monday evening, and the funeral will 
be from the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Nelson Powell, 221 Rich street.
