Pickhaver were held at the family residence this morning, and were attended by a large number of friends, the house being filled. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Urch, pastor of the M. E. church, who preached in an earnest, impressive manner words fitting the occasion. The music was by Mrs. Horrigan and Miss Scotford. Many floral tributes attested the feelings of sympathetic friends who mourned with the family. Some of the floral pieces were harp from the different millinery houses of the city; a panel of roses from employes in store of deceased; a panel of lilies from Royal Arcanum; also several pieces from personal friends. The remains were taken on the noon train to Grand Rapids, en route to Menden, the bereaved husband being accompanied on his journey by Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Clark. Deceased has been a long time resident of this city, most of the time as proprietor and manager of one of the leading millinery stores. She was a business woman of marked aptitude, possessing qualities that secure confidence and success. At the same time, she won the highest esteem of her associates in the business, who are among the very sincere mourners, and, except her immediate family friends, will most miss her. She has been in very poor health for some years, waging a heroic conflict with the most dire and relentless of diseases, fighting against hope, but maintaining a wonderful patience and courage to the last.
