All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Heintzelman sheintz@iserv.net October 11, 2019, 8:30 am Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 13 Mar 1950 Oscar (Pete) Pierce, 73, of West Riverside Drive, South Ionia, died of a heart attack while shoveling snow in front of his home Saturday at 10 a.m. He was born in South Ionia, Sept. 3, 1876, the son of Hiram and Frances Pierce and except for 21 years spent farming in North Dakota, lived his entire life in South Ionia. He was employed at the Ionia County Road Commission for 24 years until his retirement in 1949. Pierce was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He married Zoa Moffett of Ionia May 22, 1902. He leaves the wife; a son, Leslie, Ionia; a daughter, Margaret, of Ionia; two granddaughters, Bonnie of South Ionia and Catherine Kiel of Ionia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the Boynton funeral home at 2 p.m. Dr. Paul Stewart will officiate. Interment will be in Balcom cemetery.
