Pierce, 61, died unexpectedly Sunday morning at 3:45 at his home. He was born October 9, 1893, in Clare, the son of Homer and Mable Pierce and has been a Lake Odessa resident for the last eleven years where he was employed as foreman at the Lake Odessa Canning Company. Prior to his moving to Lake Odessa he had been associated with his father in the Homer Pierce and Son Poultry Company for twenty years at Woodbury. He also owned a grocery store at Woodbury from 1930-1942. He was married to Neva Wells, March 9, 1918. Surviving besides his wife, Neva, are one daughter, Mrs. Iris Reid, of Olm, Germany; one son, ViVerne Pierce of Lake Odessa; his father, Homer Pierce, and three grandchildren. The body reposes at Pickens funeral home and funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of his daughter from Germany.
