Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 May 1970

Gordon Russell Pierce, 73, of Lansing, died at his home Wednesday following an 
extended illness.  He was born June 14, 1896 in Dallas township, Clinton 
county, the son of Clarence and Daisy Pierce.  He attended Pewamo school and 
was a retired machinist at Oldsmobile in Lansing. 

Surviving are two brothers, Umbra Pierce of St. Johns and Chancy of Grand 
Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Brayton of Muir, Mrs. Mary Rowell of Mulliken 
and Mrs. Christine Meade of Lansing.

Mr. Pierce will be at Shaw Rivett Hull funeral home in Muir until noon Sunday 
when he will be removed to Pewamo United Methodist church where services will 
be at 1 p.m.  Interment will be at East Plains cemetery.
