Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Sat. Dec. 18, 1943


Funeral services for Arthur Pierce, former Ionia resident, who suffered a fatal 
heart attack December 8 at his home in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Pierce died Saturday, 
December 11 in St. Louis. Burial was in the St. Louis cemetery. 

Mr. Pierce was born in Ionia County and was employed here for many years before 
going to St. Louis to make his home.

He is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Alta Williams of Ionia and 
Helen at home, a brother, Glenn Pierce, of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Alice 
Thomas, of Fenwick and Mrs. Vern Treat, of Gowen. 

Attending services from away were; Mrs. Alma Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn 
Pierce of Ionia; Mrs. Alice Thomas of Fenwick and Mrs. Vern Treat of Gowen, who 
returned Tuesday.
