Donald E. Pierce, 65, of Haynor Road, died Saturday at Blodgett Hospital, Grand 
Rapids.  He was born in Ionia Aug. 28, 1914, the son of Frank and Margaret 
Sherwood Pierce.  He worked at Ionia Manufacturing Co. for 14 years before 
working at Brown Corp. for 12 years.  He retired in September.  He married 
Grace Good Dec. 2, 1961, and they made their home in Ionia.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; a son, Darrell of Lyons; a step-son, Gerald 
Canfield of Saranac.  A daughter, Rita Pierce Travis, died in 1964.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Leddick Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Nolan Williams of Easton United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will 
be in Easton Cemetery.  Visitors can call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 
7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
