Ionia Sentinel Standard, 22 May 1990

Florence L. Pierce, 65, of Ionia died Monday at the Ionia County Memorial
Hospital.  She was born March 13, 1925, in Ionia, the daughter of Guss and Irene
Whorley Gott.  She was a member of the Ionia County Historical Society and
retired as a secretary for the Ionia County Road Commission after 28 years.

Surviving are her husband, Robert E.; two sons, Robert W. of Talent, Ore., and
John W. of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. James (Genie) Moriarty of Muir; four
grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Balzell of Ionia and Linda Pappin of Clio;
her step-mother, Ethlyn Gott, of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at her son
John’s home, 2215 Marquette Road, Ionia.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial
Gardens.  Memorials have been established for Ionia Area Hospice and the
American Cancer Society.  Arrangements are by Cook Funeral Home, Ionia.
