Lake Odessa Wave-Thurs. December 26, 1957

KATHERINE PIERCE DIED FRIDAY
Mrs. Katherine Pierce, 72, of route 3, passed away Friday afternoon at the 
Campbell Rest Home in Hastings where she had been a patient for nine weeks. She 
had  been a patient at Pennock Hospital but was able to return to her home for a 
short time before going to the rest home.

Mrs. Pierce was a lifelong resident of Eaton County and her parent were Fred and 
Christina (Winters) Miller, early pioneers of Eaton County.

Her husband, Homer, whom she married about 47 years ago, passed away in March of 
1955.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs.Elizabeth Signis of Hasting, two grandchildren; 
four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with 
burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Rev. Robert Betts of the Woodland Evangelical 
United Brethren Church officiated.
