The Portland Observer, Wednesday, August 7, 1889
Mrs. Nancy Pierce, mother of Charles Pierce of this village, died at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. O. L. Tallman in Grand Ledge on Wednesday last, in the 
91st year of her age.  Mrs. Pierce was a member of the Baptist church of this 
village.  Her remains were interred in the Wacousta cemetery.
