The funeral of Hiram Pierce, South Ionia, who died Tuesday, will be held from 
the late home on Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock, with Rev. W. K. Spencer in 
charge.  Mr. Pierce had been ill for some time.

Mr. Pierce had been a farmer in this county for a number of years and had many 
friends.  His son, Oscar, of Colgon, N.D., has been with his father for the 
past five or six weeks.  Besides the widow and son, Oscar, there are three 
sisters surviving, Mrs. Lucinda Colbath of Lansing, Mrs. Jane Dolphin of 
Burlington, and Mrs. Abbie Colby of South Ionia, and one brother, William 
Pierce, of California.
