Lake Odessa Wave, July 6, 1939
Mrs. Elizabeth Worden Jackson Pierce, 87, pioneer resident of Lake Odessa died 
Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Gilliland, where she has been 
confined to the home for a long time, occasionally she would go to live with 
some other child but would always come back to the home where she died.

The funeral was largely attended at the Calvary United Brethren church with 
the Rev. S. S. Cox officiating and burial was at Lakeside Wednesday.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Gilliland, Mrs. Elizabeth Bachelder of 
Grand Rapids, Mrs. May Sedore of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Etta Knapp and Mrs. 
Mertie Gilliland of Lansing; two sons, Ray Jackson of Ionia and Roy Jackson of 
Lake Odessa; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren and five 
great-great-grandchildren.
