Paul R. Pierson, 18, of 4120 Belding road, rural Belding, was killed Monday 
afternoon in a semi-truck – car accident at the intersection of M-44 and 
Ramsdell Road in Kent county.  Mr. Pierson was born Aug. 26, 1960 in Ionia, the 
son of Robert and Susan Schippler Pierson.  He attended schools in Belding and 
graduated from Belding High School in 1978.  He played junior varsity and 
varsity baseball in school and worked as an inspector at Process Equipment Co. 
in Belding at the time of his death.

Survivors include his mother and father, Robert and Susan Pierson; three 
brothers, Brian, in the Navy at Great Lakes, Ill., Robert, Jr., and Dana, both 
at home; one foster brother, Tim Brancheau, from MacDill AFB, Fla.; one sister, 
Penny Sue, at home; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Pierson of 
Orleans; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Marion Schipper of Ionia; paternal great 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephan Scott of  Coldwater.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Shiloh Community 
Church, with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment will be in Orleans 
Cemetery.  Family will be at the Leddick Funeral Home to receive friends and 
relatives on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
