Pierson, 66, of Ionia died Monday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 14,1919 in New London, Conn., the daughter of William and Katherine Gray Coleman. She attended school in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Belding where she was employed in the Jolly Kids Mills. She was married to Delos Mills in March of 1942 in Belding. They later moved to IHnia. He died in 1954. She was employed later at Gibson in Belding until retirement in Dec. 1984. She was married to Leonard Pierson in Manistee on Aug. 17, 1968. He survives. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church and of the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are two sons, Harry Mills and Gregory Mills, both of Ionia, and a daughter, Mrs. Alanson (Carolyn) Stowell of Muir; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Nathan and James Coleman, both of Greenville; Kenneth Coleman of Alaska, and Richard Coleman of Lansing; four sisters, Mrs. Wilford (Othella) Shawley of Belding, Lorraine Chickering of Belding, Mrs. Charles (Jeannette) Strauss of Clare and July Coleman of Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 am from SS. Peter and Paul Church. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be Wednesday at 8 pm at the Montgomery-Leddick Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A memorial has been established for the Michigan Heart Association.
