Services for Mrs. R. L. (Edith) Pierson, who died Thursday morning when her car 
struck a tree on the Stage road, will be held from the First Methodist church 
Monday at 2:30 p.m.  Burial will be at the Woodard Lake cemetery.  The body 
will be at the Boynton funeral home until the services.

Mrs. Pierson was born January 10, 1889 in Ronald township, the daughter of 
William D. and Martha J. Robertson.  She married Roland L. Pierson, December 
25, 1913 and the couple operated the Pierson orchards for many years.  They 
recently built a new home in Ionia where they were residing.

Mrs. Pierson was a member of Queen Esther chapter of the Order of Eastern Star 
and attended and was active in the First Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband, a son, R. Leon Pierson, three grandchildren, 
Ronnie; Gina and Kathryn; a brother, Ray D. Robertson of Ronald township.  A 
sister, Mrs. Sadie Adele Cook, died in 1953.   A memorial fund will be 
established for the children’s department of the church.
