The Lowell Ledger, November 4, 1897


Arthur Pike, of South Boston, died Friday, October 22, 1897, of typhoid 
fever.  He was about 21 years of age.  The funeral was held in the M. E. 
church Sunday afternoon, by Rev. F. E. Stowell of Saranac, attended by a very 
large concourse of people.  Owing to the nature of the disease of which he 
died, it was thought best to bury the remains prior to the funeral which was 
done about 8:00 a.m. Sunday.
