Tuberculosis of the bowels was the cause of death. The remains will reach Portland on the evening train tonight (Thursday) and will be taken to the home of Mrs. Mary McVeigh, a sister, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Burial will be made in Portland cemetery. Mr. Pilkinton was born in the Christian Bend neighborhood, northwest of Portland, 60 years ago last June, and with the exception of two or three years at Bay City resided continuously in this vicinity until five years ago, when he moved to Eaton Rapids and engaged in the draying and general delivery business. While a resident of this vicinity he followed the occupation of a farmer. About 30 years ago Mr. Pilkinton was married to Mrs. Ada Samaine, of Portland, who survives. The two children are Charles Pilkinton of Ionia, and Mrs. Ernest Moore of Eaton Rapids. Besides these Mr. Pilkinton leaves three brothers, Orrin of Twisp, Washington, Silas H. and Fred Pilkinton of Portland, and two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Baker of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Mary McVeigh of this place.
