April 18, 1901 LIVED IN KEENE 45 YEARS Mrs. Viana Pinckney who Died April 9 Viana Day was born in Genesee County, N.Y., May 31, 1822 and died April 9, 1901. When she was three years of age, she came with her parents to Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan, where she lived until her marriage with Ira Pinkney of Pontiac in 1839. Mr. and Mrs. Pinkney lived in Clinton County, for three years, then came to Keene, and settled on the farm, where for forty-five years they labored side by side, sharing life’s joys and sorrows together. To them were born eight children, three sons and five daughters, of whom two sons, George A. and Wm. Henry, of Keene and one daughter, Mrs. Caroline Pike of Morely, Michigan, are left to mourn the loss of a mother. In 1887, Mr. Pinkney passed away, leaving her to journey alone. She was an ever loving mother, a kind friend and a good neighbor. The funeral services were held at the home in Keene, the interment taking place on the old farm, where she lived so long.
