Oct. 20, 1949 Mrs. Alice Piper, 47, Dies In Ann Arbor Mrs. Alice Katherine Piper, 47, passed away Sunday afternoon at the University hospital, Ann Arbor where she had been taken Saturday evening. She was born in Withee, Wisc. Feb. 2, 1902 and had resided on the farm southwest of town, the former King farm, about two years. She was a member of the St. Edwards church and Secretary of the Altar Society. Surviving are the husband George, six sons, Howard of Spokane, Wash., Raymond of Lake Odessa. Gleun, Vernon, Charles and John, And 3 daughters, Pearl, Cavilla Mary, and Vivian, all at home, her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Eppers of Withee, Wisc., two brothers Leslie of Racine, Wisc. and Arnold of Marshfield, Wisc. and four grandchildren. St. Edwards Altar Society and friends recited the rosary at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Pickens Chapel. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Chapel and at 10 a.m. at the St. Edwards church with the Rev. Fr. Donald Farrell officiating. Burial was in lakeside cemetery.
