Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Jan. 29, 1962

Funeral service was held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon for DeForest Piper, 
51, of 800 East Main street, who died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday 
evening. The Rev. Floyd Emshwiller officiated and interment was at Balcom 
cemetery.

Bearers were Hubert Flanders, Edward Bensinger, Glen Bensinger, William 
Bensinger, Gerald Perry and William Ranking. 

Employees of Ionia Manufacturing company attended in a group.

Relatives and friends attending from out of town were from Ann Arbor, Detroit, 
Clinton, Tecumseh, Saline, Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Colon, Birmingham, 
Swartz Creek, Lansing, Williamston, East Lansing, Saranac, Wayne, Dearborn, 
Portland, Comstock Park, Muir, Lake Odessa, Sparta, Hubbardston, Pewamo, Lyons 
and Fenwick.
