The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Monday, October 12, 1959
Mrs. Elsie Beatrice Piper, 66, 630 Bayard street, died unexpectedly Monday 
morning.   She was born in Tipton, the daughter of Robert Pawson and Alma 
Seamon Pawson.  She was married November 13, 1909 to Fred L. Piper.  Surviving 
are her husband, Fred; one son, DeForest F. Piper of Ionia; two grandchildren; 
one brother, Dolar Pawson of Lansing; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Castle of 
Ionia.  Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Myers 
funeral home with burial at Balcom cemetery.  The Rev. Heath T. Goodwin, 
pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate.
