Piper, aged 75, of Fenwick, passed away at her home on Friday evening, March 30, 2007 following a long illness. She was born in Odessa Township on June 29, 1931, the daughter of Kedric and Violet (Grant) Monasmith. Harriette graduated from Woodland High School in 1949. She loved to crochet and read, especially her Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Kedric V. Piper. Harriette is survived by Glenn D. Piper, her loving husband of 56 years; three daughters, Gloria (Kenneth) Bartels of Canton, South Dakota, Charlotte (George, Jr.) Williamson of Vineland, New Jersey, and Rose Piper of Burkesville, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, George (Jane) Monasmith. The funeral service will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 3, 2007, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Community Church, or Hospice of Michigan.
