Sentinel-Std. Wednesday, March 2, 1977

IONIA- Vern G. Piper, 84, of 624 Bayard street, died Tuesday at Ionia county 
Memorial hospital.

He was born December 26, 192 in Ionia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Piper.

He married his wife, Florence Canter, in 1913 and they lived in Ionia all their 
married life.

He was formerly employed by Berger Motors, Gus Kraft Motors and Pat's Body 
Shop. 
Surviving besides his wife are one brother, Fred of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. 
Ella Sage of Ionia and Lila Burke of Roseville; one grandson and three great-
grandchildren.

Services are Friday at 2 pm from the Myers-Roetman funeral home with Rev. Roger 
Gifford officiating. 

Burial is in Highland Park.
