December 30, 2022 PISELLI "Ellen" Jean Lower Piselli passed away December 13, 2022 after a short illness. Born May 27, 1926 in Akron, Michigan, she was the daughter of "Samuel" Colon Todd and Josephine Sams Todd. She married Gaylord Lower on June 24, 1945 in Ionia, Michigan. Gaylord passed away in March 1970. they had two children, Gay Lynn Lower Kanouse North and Richard Todd Lower. Jean married Louis Piselli on July 2, 1977. Jean and Lou traveled extensively, always looking for different places to visit. Jean loved to play bridge, knitted the most beautiful sweaters, and was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of SS Peter & PauląCatholic Church for 77 years. She was a member of the church Rosary Circle and bridge County Club.Jean worked for Social Services, was a Secretary at Mitchell Bentley (AO Smith), and retired from the Michigan Reformatory where she was the Procurement Officer for many years. She was the head of the Manhattan Club for family and friends (Cocktails at 4:30). Surviving are her son, Richard Lower (Patricia); stepsons, John Piselli (Julie), James Piselli (Diane) and Joseph Piselli (Anną); 7 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Joanne Hull (Robert) Stephen Todd (Charlotte), and Kathleen Jones. Jean was preceded in death by husband, Louis Piselli; daughter, Gay North; son- in-law, Tim North; brothers, Kenneth and Phillip Todd; sisters, Shirley Murphy (Leslie), Marjorie Weisgerber (Stuart), Marilyn Northard (Lloyd), and Phyllis Venn Nystrom (Don); and brother-in-law, Richard Venn and Joseph Jones. Thank You to Green Acres and Interim Hospice for their excellent care. The family received visitors on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street,Ionia. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr.Thomas Brown at 11:00 am, Monday, December 19, 2022 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church,Ionia. A luncheon followed at the SS Peter and Paul Apostles Hall, In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Commission on Aging in memory of Jean.
