Pitman, 74, widow of Rev. A.J. Pitman, was held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel with burial at Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Glenn McCarty of Saranac officiated. Mrs. Pitman died at midnight Friday at the Osteopathic hospital in Grand Rapids. She was married in North Dakota, November 6, 1907 at the home of her parents, William and Susan May Rogers Richardson. Her husband, the Rev. A.J. Pitman, died October 25, 1960 in Lake Odessa where they had resided about 15 years. Mrs. Pitman was a member of the Congregational church, Women’s fellowship and was a Sunday school teacher many years. She was also a member of Lake Odessa Rebekah lodge. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Raymond Kolenda of Grand Rapids; a son, Lt. Richard Pitman, stationed with the Naval Air Force at Jacksonville, Fla., six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Gileyick of Corcoran, Calif. Bearers were Donald Eckman, Ronald Erickson, Ross Thomas, Bernard Johnson, George Geisel, Fred Garlinger, George Brown and Howard Haddix.
