Lake Odessa Wave - June 23, 1960
          WARD E. PLANTS PASSED AWAY LAST SUNDAY

   Ward E. Plants, 58 of Woodland passed away Sunday afternoon at Pennock hospital,
Hastings where he was 
admitted Wednesday night. He was born in Grand Rapids and was a graduate of the
Woodland high school.

   Mr. Plants was employed as manager of the Hartford Co-op elevator at Hartford for
26 yrs., retiring five 
years ago because of ill health. He moved to Woodland from Hatford two years ago.

   A member of the Woodland Methodist church, he was also a member of the Hartford
Masonic Lodge.

   Surviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Trumbo; two daughters Mrs. Harry
(Beverly) Sanford of Benton 
Habor and Mrs. Russell (Bonita)Black of Grand Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. R. L.
Ritmanich, Mrs. John Selvinus 
and Mrs. Harold English and his father Elon Plants all of Grand Rapids; two brothers
Vernon Plants of Lake 
Odessa and Carlton of Grand Rapids and six grandchildren.

   Mr. Plants reposed at the Wing & Pickens funeral chapel at Woodland until taken
to the where funeral 
services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m., with burial in the Lakeside cemetery. Rev.
Marvin Zimmerman officiated.
